As we embrace Black History Month this February, I decided to turn the spotlight on our Founder and Creative Director of HumbleBerry, Kyla Morgan. Shhh, she doesn’t know I wrote this, and if you are reading this now Kyla, well surprise! By now, you all know what we do at HumbleBerry through our free publications and blog posts, but if not, we bring a whole new social impact empowerment through cause-related news, insights, and research. With that being said, I decided to bring you some insight on Kyla herself, the beauty and brains who made HumbleBerry a reality. Not only has she given back to so many people, small businesses, and charities within the city, but she empowers me every day as a strong female entrepreneur. So, come join me for a ride down memory lane and let me show you how much of a genuine person Kyla Morgan truly is.
I was introduced to Kyla back in 2018, and although it seems not too long ago, I feel like I’ve known Kyla my whole life. She pitched me her idea of HumbleBerry and I loved everything she stood for and what the company stood for. Fast forward almost two years later, and HumbleBerry is not only a certified Women Business Enterprise but has done some great things - from exciting contests to raise money for charities, to creating holiday boxes, to empowering blog posts written by the team, to even supporting social impact through other services for others - we continuously grow and stay positive, especially during a time like this. In fact, staying positive is one thing Kyla has demonstrated tremendously throughout this pandemic as she keeps it real and all together. I mean did you know HumbleBerry is just one of her many projects?
Kyla is also a real estate investor, published writer, and proud supporter of the Canadian fashion industry. Not only does she hold a degree, and advanced diploma, but she has furthered her education all the way to a master of arts in fashion - with a focus on philanthropy. While juggling the life of an entrepreneur and all her daily projects, she is an amazing wife, mother of three beautiful daughters, and one energetic dog. Oh, and not to mention my work wife.
While Black History Month is world-renowned, I felt it was time to show off this confident, beautiful black woman who demonstrates success in the world of business, fashion, and beauty. Kyla, you are an ‘IT’ woman and this little blog was just the tip of the iceberg with Kyla and who she is! I am so happy to call you my work wife, mentor, and friend. For those who know you - know what I’m talking about. For those who don’t know Kyla, what are you waiting for? Kyla is an educator, community builder, social entrepreneur, and you can check that all out on her website, www.kylamorgan.com, where you’ll find anything from tips and tricks to good hair, home decor, the latest fashion trends, and so much more.
Thank you for all you’ve done for Humbleberry, those around you, and all your other projects. The rest of the team at HumbleBerry dedicate the month of February and Black History Month to you Kyla, a true role model, and black female entrepreneur.
